Selfishness and Altruism

“Maybe when you find out that someone likes you – you just look at them a little more closely than before – and maybe you like what you see. That’s okay, isn’t it?”

I think it is. I’d like to believe that people are innately vain. They could be attracted to others based on the sole premise of the other people’s attraction to them. A relationship may be born out of that kind of selfishness. It just shouldn’t stop there; it should evolve accordingly and transform into something much more beautiful.

But it’s no guarantee. There’s no clean-cut proof of something as fickle as this. You see, even people are crazily in love do not necessarily produce long-term relationships. We won’t really know the specifics and it’s probably too early at this point in time to draw conclusions.
