Misfit

It seemed as if St. Scholastica and St. Benedict have teamed up in casting prayers to nullify the repercussions of the power interruption brought about by Typhoon Basyang—paving way to a solemn kick – off celebration of the 50 years of Benedictine education of our dear Alma matter.

Even a few days shy of the much-awaited festivity, the spirit of community living had already been evident in the decorating of booths where memorabilias would be sold, in the beautifying of the improvised altar situated just in front of St. Benedict’s garden and in the polishing of the different presentations for the said event. It was as if the whole Benedictine community united and worked towards making this whole affair as successful as possible.

It’s an excerpt from what’s meant to be a news article. I should be flayed alive for my abuse of flamboyant terms. In my defense, I could say that I wrote this three or four years ago. But nah. I’ve always been a late bloomer in writing.
